What kind of discussion belong to this category? I don't know how everybody else feels, but to me, many (maybe majority) of the discussions here don't belong to this category. They are just verbal fights, or exchanging words, not exchanging opinions. It doesn't matter which side do you take, but there have to be some seriousness in your discussion if you really want it fall into the category in this picture.
Probably nobody cares anyways -- there are different goals for different forums, and the owners of the forum has different visions about how their forum should be.
Going back to silence ...
