I know there is no place for me lecturing Logic or English here.
Couple days ago, Mr Pang posted that verdict is fact. It took me a while to swallow it. He is right, I'll explain in this way. I coined the "fact" verdict:
For example:
Mr. Libby is guilty on obstruction to justice. the sentence is a fact; it is a fact derived from all facts addimitted by the court.
In the legal world, the jobs of attorneys is to establishing or destroying "reasonable doubts" in the process of arguement.In scientific world, the jobs of you guys are finding new observations to prove or disprove existing fact inference.

You can't assume your logic is that "deductive". every fact is subject to the question of "reasonble doubt".Fancy adjectives and adverbs are not helpful to recount a fact. We can take Libby case again. His defense was he had mental/memory problem. they might have appealed to medical authorities. Obviously, the efforts were all unsuccesful. How about his defense could've found creditable witness/evidence that Mr Libby was trying to eat a live cat as breakfast and his doggy as lunch on that day? Just the plain words I put here. I believe he'd probably won the case.
黎安友's comment(what you described) is fine to me, but not yours. His comment is not personal, yours is. I can argue that idiot is too weak to describe what he'd done. Just your examples of "idiot" usage can support my arguement too.
I could say Mao is a psycho. If a thing just happend in thousands of years, he's probably not an idiot, but a psycho. Is this a reasonable doubt? and Why psycho or idiot, he could be a cretin or simpleton, too.
The political correctness is a decency.
