Hell Gate of the east Harlem:

where are all the ghosts crying at night. Believe or not, that was the place to execute prisoners in a such unbelievable way:

They were chained around the rocks and drowned when the tide came.

Actually in NY, the worst district was the east New York in Brooklyn.

Harlem is not that bad, especially the adjacent. Bronx has exceptionally good neighborhood where wealthy Japaneses and jews reside.
