First of all, wasn’t it Mao who once said something like: “Nations want to be independent. Races want to be liberated. People want revolutions. This is an irresistible trend of history.” (or something like that)? Taiwanese people are just taking Mao’s proclamations to heart. Secondly, it is questionable whether you own the place. Thirdly, even if you own the property, but if you let someone live on your property for a long time, say 50 years, then they own the place. The statute of limitation has run out.
