The Mostly Mozart Festival unveils the U.S. premiere of Peter Sellars’s biting, contemporary production of Mozart’s unfinished tragic romance, set here in a sweatshop. Festival music director Louis Langrée makes his New York opera conducting debut, leading the period-instrument ensemble Concerto Köln and the cast of soloists.
( heard on NPR this morning. interesting controvercial about Peter Sellar's production. Mozart wrote this opera on his own term, no commission and never see it put on the stage himself...)
