The money the government invests does NOT belong to the government - in theory, the government just helps to manage that money. The money is tax payer's.
Government != private owned business.
According to your theory, if the government makes everything state owned, then the government can control everything and everybody. But the question is, other than using tax payer's money (or using military force in communist countries) how does the government come up with the money to OWN all these thing? Who in the government made that money.
Use tax payer's money to control the tax payers, and the tax payers can't say anything about it. Sounds like CCP.
