I was talking about "lao san jie", ie, the graduates born between 1952-1947. All those people "graduated" from middle schools in one go in 1968 and were sent to the countryside, including Lao Ma, Lao Fei and me. There were no exceptions except a small proportion of students who were supposed to be too ill to go. But even these people could not continue their studies. Instead, they were allocated to factories etc.

The students you are talking about here were not Lao San Jie but younger than them. After Lao San Jie were all expelled to the countryside, schools were reopen and new students recruited. They stayed until they finished their studies in middle schools then were sent to the countryside as well.

Throughout history, this was an unique occasion on which all the six grades of school students "graduated" at the same time and were all sent to the countryside. So how could MBM pursue senior middle school studies? He went to Innner Mogolia and spent 8 years as a herdsman. That's what he told everyone.

God, it seems that youngsters do not know yesterday's history, including you.
