Where did I say 6/4 是“一场伟大的民主运动”?? I said, to my opinion, the students did a lot of things over the limit, but none of them deserv death penalty. The way CCP handled this issue was wrong from the very begining of this, and was terribly wrong at the end of it.
As 消极 said downstairs, the reason it became that scale, was because it was not handled timely, and at the end, they have the option of not using fully armed military -- I still consider one of the reason they used military was their internal high-level power struggle.
More than anybody else, it is the government who needs to admit they did wrong, and start to think what they could have done differently. If they continue to cover things up, and just put pressures on dissidents, Chinese people will not have the sense of security, because they don't know what the government will do next.
Of course the students need to look at what they did wrong too. However, I 100% believe that they had good intentions. You can punish those whoever needs to be punished according to law, but don't call all of them trouble makers.
From your post, I read something like this; After so many years in Western country, I start to understand 法制, then those students in 89 6/4 should understand 法制 the same way as I do today ...
I use English because I have to. My account is not an admin on my computer, so I am not free to install stuff on it ...
