My wild guess on 枪击事件
1) This is an assassination, not some dirty tricks played by Chen’s party.
2) Neither the CCP or KMT is behind the scenes, as they would have no gain by making Chen a martyr. Besides, assassination has never been the tradition of the CCP. They don’t believe in it.
3) So it is most probably a stupid action by either some gangsters or a crazy fanatic.
4) This incident has helped Chen a great deal, but the situation is not really desperate for the KMT and its allies, because Chen is NOT mortally or seriously wounded. However, now it all depends on the responses of the “Pan-blue Camp”. If they handle the situation badly, they may well blow it.
5) If I was Lian Zhan or Song Chuyu, I would do the following:
a. Condemn the assassin(s) using the most severe language.
b. Pledge to the public that I would take this case as my utmost priority so as to catch the assassin and reveal the plot to the public as soon as possible, if I was elected.
c. Go to the hospital to visit President Chen to express my sympathy and comfort.
d. Avoid belittling the incident or even ridiculing Chen and Luu. Play the role of a benign, kind and considerate statesman with great sense of justice and fair play
If they do not act like this, then they would most probably end up as losers.
