“保利”一名的由来
1983年，解放军总参谋部、中国国际信托投资公司(简称中信公司)联合组建一家对外贸易公司，时任中信公司总经理徐兆龙为公司起名“保利”，取保卫胜利之意。英文前缀词POLY恰与中文“保利”一词发音相同，故取之。王军、贺平等公司创始人都是这一历史的见证者。保利公司的司徽P，取英文“PLA‘(中国人民解放军缩写)、“POLY”、“POWER”之含义，变形的英文字母P，由赖维武、王小朝于1987年设计，象征拳头，代表信心和力量。P中心的空间，喻意把握现在，放眼未来。1993年保利公司成立十周年庆典之际，贺平总经理邀请书法家启功先生书“中国保利集团公司”，有简体和繁体两个版本。1994年11月，保利公司正式注册“P”和“保利”两个商标，并取得国家工商局颁发的商标证书。
