美国有多艘被日本击沉的航母有再次命名新的舰艇，表示不沉不屈，比如:

"USS Hornet (CV/CVA/CVS-12) is a United States Navy aircraft carrier of the Essex class. Construction started in August 1942; she was originally named USS Kearsarge, but was renamed in honor of the USS Hornet (CV- , which was lost in October 1942, becoming the eighth ship to bear the name."

飓风的命名也不对，根据美国气象学会的命名方法，飓风的名字有可能每6年轮换，但是如老马指出，要是出现巨大灾情，那名字下次就不再用。
