the factory was owned by the local govermnet(SI Hua Gong Ju). the factor was located in prety much the center of a large city
the factory had been bankrupted for a well, as many other factories. most workers and their families was selling You Tiao and noodles , repairing bikes,and trying to do anything they can do to make a living.
they lived in their old ugly apartments given them by the factory.
in 1996, the local gorvermnet sold the factory to a company from Singapore.the workers suddenly got excited. people took everything, smashed every window, occupied every building. my relative moved to the clinic office, and changed it to her home
a mob was formed , people from the Singapore company repeatedly attacked. at least one of the buyer company managers was attacked by people using bricks and his head bleeding. i don't think he died
those kind of riots happened several times
strangely, the singapore people just ran away, no police, no gorvermnet people ever showed up. nothing happened to thoses attackers. nothing in the newspaper. people one block away just knew nothing about it
