we all know that a group of stones live on the board if they have two eyes. And the game doesn't allow suicide move, say black stones with two eyes tries to fill its own eye. Also modern GO tournaments all impose stringent time limits on each player's move. But can any player pass on a move arbitory early in the game?

Does professional players evaluate a bad move vs. no move at all in the course of game?

I'd appreciate if any of you who play GO enlighten me on different rules.
