http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liviu_Librescua professor blocked the classroom door, apparantly saved most of his class.

I may be wrong about his military training background, given the age and senior status, he didn't experienced that. but again, rotc is possible.

and he kept his natianl, just renewed his PR in 2003. to my knowledge, south korean recognizes dual nationals. I personally know some young korean male gave up korean national to avoiding the mandatory service in the army.
