bought it, because the real estate price was very low in Southern NJ in the early 90's.
Later on, the price highrocketed, he used it as a rental property to generate cash income, and moved to a rental apt for much less.

In all it's a successful story of investment.

It'd make him a perfect man of honor if he left a will to make the house a donation to a scholarship or award in his name for the encouragement of young generation. Actually at his last birth day party, I tentatively asked him on setting up a "Journalism Freedom Award" Honoring his name, he sighed, said:

"Where could I find that kind of money?"

I did not pursue further.
