Christ himself never wrote a word down and many books in the New Testament were written years after Christ died, many by people who have never met Christ in person.
It is more appropriate to say that a group of people created the Christian religion in the name of Christ. The most influential being Paul who never met Christ in person either.
If you want intellectual content, you can read Thomas Aquinas. Any institution as old as the Catholic Church has created more substance for any brain to chew on. In fact, modern science grew out of the intellectual institutions created by the Catholic Church. It was a singular creation among all the civilizations. What can Buddhism offer that even comes close to such towering intellectual achievement?
