There are people living in Taiwan. Whether they are Chinese or Taiwanese or whatever they want to call themselves is up to them, not up to you.
It is not at all clear that it is you rather than the people who have lived there for generations who own the land. You gave up the land 100 years together with people who lived on it. Then the land was supposedly given back to you 50 years ago by people who had never lived there in the first place. Doesn’t it appear odd to you that the people who actually lived there never had any say in this? They are human beings not some property to be traded back and forth, neither by you nor by anybody else.
Even if (a big if) you can some how prove you own the land, if you haven’t had anything to do with it for that long, you have probably forfeited your right. Otherwise, there will be no end to this. Tibet was never part of China till mid-Qing dynasty, so they can go back a few hundred years and claim their independence based on that. Most of the Americans should go back to Europe and give the land back to the natives. Then there is northwest China, the very name XinJiang speaks for itself.
