Mr Gao, thanks to 2u2m's magic, I was able to read your poster. I must say, there is some misunderstanding between us, or more precisely, you seem to have misunderstood me.
As I have said many times, I am an independent intellectual (or "academic" as they say in this country) belonging to no camp. So the "united front" tactics do not work with me. Apparently, it is your misunderstanding that Anhunqu has "pushed" me to "your side". I am afraid that I always stand in where I have been, not having moved an inch. I did not, do not, and will not, belong to any side. For the rest of my life, I will remain independent of any political force.
But you are right about my different evaluation on you and Anhunqu. You guys are totally different. From the very beginning, I saw the differences between you two. Although I did not, do not, and will not agree on your political opinions, I know you are a sincere believer, not a con-man or cheat like Anhunqu. It is very easy to see through this: Had you not adhered to your political belief so firmly, you would not have been a Marxist at all. Being a Marxist is not a fashionable thing in the West, is it? Any person with a more flexible and less serious attitude toward life would have changed his belief the moment he set foot on America.
So Mr Gao, I despise and resent what you believe in, but I hold reasonable respect for your personality. In contrast, I don't give a damn about Anhunqu's political opinions (if any), but I knew from the very beginning he is by no means a decent and honest man. Indeed, he has turned out to be a collaborator with the Communist regime, having dirty deals with them and having made a big fortune for himself.
Mr Gao, if you were a more careful observer, you would work out the real reason for the sudden change in his attitude towards me. As everyone knows, he had hated me in his guts and had had fights with me quite a few times. But then his attitude suddenly changed. So much so that even if I mock him now, he wouldn't dare to respond. Why?
The answer is pretty simple: He knows that I know his dark secrets and he would do anything to avoid provoking me so that his dark secrets would be safe. That was why he tried to woo me when I criticized Marxism.
So Mr Gao, may I give you a suggestion: If you are fed up with An's harassment, just ask him about his dirty deals with the Chinese government. I am sure he will be silenced immediately. I put my money on my words. If this trick does not work, come to see me to get refunded.
Taking this opportunity, may I also repeat my previous suggestion: leave this place and stop fighting with ghosts. You have done enough damage to yourself. Being active in the BBS has done you no good. A politician, you'd better look after your own image and start to learn something about public relations.
