The similarities and differences between the horse and donkey (1)
芦笛
Lao Ma and I are both the Great Traitors. So there is bound to be some similarities between us. Except experienced readers though, people often fail to see that the similarities between us are just apparent, whereas the differences between us are fundamental.
Put it simply, Lao Ma stuns the public with his incredible idiocy where I shock people by telling the most embarrassing truth, such as the Chinese is no doubt a nation that is really stupid, not just ordinarily stupid, but outstandingly stupid.
Either way, this is not easy. To achieve what I have done, one needs penetrating insights resulting from a well-developed brain, strictly-trained way of thinking, a wide range of knowledge and vast life experiences both at home and abroad. To accomplish Lao Ma's deeds, on the other hand, one's brain has to work in a pretty bizarre or abnormal way that no ordinary person can ever manage.
In this sense, Ludi might not be unique in China, but I am dead sure Lao Ma is indeed unique, just like his "academic sister" who is also active in this BBS.
This has been best demonstrated by Lao Ma's latest pieces, in which he has made another astonishing great discovery. He declares without a trace of hesitation to the world that any article that uses phrases such as "no doubt", "needless to say", "obviously" etc is absolutely worthless.
This is most typical of Lao Ma's way of thinking, which I have described as "straight line" plus "tunnel vision". When he observes things, his sight only reaches a tiny spot of the surface. It can never penetrates nor see the whole of the object. In the whole world, only he alone could have simplified such a complicated intellectual activity as reading and invented (or some idiot Jin's invention, who cares?) a way to guide people how to evaluate an article in this idiot-proof way. So you don't have to read through the article and think about whether the author's reasoning is correct, the facts he quoted valid, etc. No, absolutely no need for that. All you'll have to do is just to search whether there are those phrases he has outlawed. If there are, then that will be the end of your intellectual efforts.
Can you say this kind of activity intellectual? It's even easier than picking up mushrooms! In the latter case, at least you would have to remember the colors and shapes of poisonous mushrooms.
Any person with the minimal sanity would find how ridiculous this great discovery is. It means that the author are never allowed to use well-known facts, common sense, generally accepted scientific principles and social consensus as evidence to support his arguments. If Ma's law is put in force, scientific papers are first to fall victim, for they always start from the well-known facts and principles, and there is no doubt about them unless the paper is to challenge some accepted theory. If Ma had ever read a scientific paper, he would have not made this folly.
(to be continued)
