32nd and 31st Regiment were Army and belonged to the 7th Army division, not Marines.
I don't think there is nothing that we should be ashamed of. The difference in man power does not translate directly to fighting ability. 12 Chinese divisions did not match Americans in terms of weaponry or fire power. Chinese Volunteers had nothing but light infantry. US had air superiority, tanks, heavy artillery. The difference in weaponry was overwhelmingly favoring the US. It is right to blame the CCP for entering the useless war but the fighting spirit and charater of the Chinese Army and soldiers are something we should be proud of.
