今天主子在系里的小会议室里查文献，一时神游物外，喃喃有声，却听见对面两个法国姑娘(访问学者)掩口胡卢，格格娇笑。她们原来在摆弄投影机，现在却两双共四只妙目盯着我。
"Hey, what's wrong? What's the matter? Did I say something funny?" Asked I.
"No, you are just talking to yourself." One of them said, then turned to the other. Both of them giggled again.
"Oh, I see. Yeah, I understand now. Indeed, there are two most beautiful girls here and yet I am ignoring them and talking to myself instead! What a crime! How could I be so blind, ignorant of the presence of the most attractive creatures in this world? This is really absurd, intolerable and outrageous! It's a crime, or a sin, to say the very least!"
They did not say anything but laughed. So I repeated what I had said in case they had failed to understand my English. Then I asked again:
"It's a crime, isn't it?"
"No." Both of them replied.
"So it's a sin? 梦拔地薯(注，法国话之爱称，意为“我的小洋白菜”)"
"No, it's neither of them."
"So what's that then, 洗洗(注，法国话中相当于“甜心”的词)？"
They looked at each other, saying nothing. I persisted. Then a girl finally said:
"It's not a crime or sin. You are just crazy. That's all."
"What do you mean I am crazy?" I demanded, " in what context? You mean I am crazy because I have talked to myself, or because I have ignored the most beautiful creatures in this world?"
"Both!" Both of them said in one voice.
