AIDS victims are carrying out deadly suicide bomb attacks to kill and maim American troops in Iraq.
A top secret army report blames at least three terrorist explosions on rebels dying from the killer virus.
The confidential file drawn up by British and U.S. military intelligence agents in Baghdad says AIDS sufferers are offering their lives to Al Qaeda so they can die as martyrs.
In the Arab world, families face disgrace if it is revealed their loved ones have contracted AIDS. By offering to become human bombs, patients are told they will die as heroes to the insurgent cause and the veil of shame will be lifted from their families.
The report -- marked "Restricted Access" -- reveals evidence of one "major" car bombing and two belt bomb atrocities where DNA tests showed the bombers were HIV positive.
An additional purpose is to splatter the diseased blood from the suicide bomber over potential targets.
"There is firm evidence that bombers with AIDS have been used in suicide attacks and may be employed increasingly for such attacks in the future. There is considerable danger here..." says the report.
With the number of U.S. casualties in Iraq rising every day, this new development is certain to alarm military chiefs who are struggling to find a way to protect troops from suicide bombers.
