Guys, 'giving nukes to Taiwan' is a non-starter. There are a lot of dynamics in the PRC-Taiwan dispute that are nothing like the India-Pak one. Theirs is primarily a political dispute. If anything, its the PRC that's the schizophrenic 'Paki' side in the matter, not Taiwan, unlike in our case.
Culturally the two people have little reason not to view themselves as having a common ancestry. If at all India wishes to play the game, it should be on the side of the secessionist forces - giving them a place to speak out, supporting them financially and with our own soundbites backing them. That is, drive a wedge between the political forces.
As for Vietnam, um, yeah, we can give them carte blanche when it comes to defence purposes. I think we've already started doing that. "Tranh-san want supersonic cruise missile to deal with errant fishermen in Cam Ranh Bay" ? "But of course! We have Brahmos. Takes out all fishermen and nearby Chinese warships onlee"
Oh anyway, more good news on the trade front:
India-China trade to cross $10 billion
Jan-Sept 2004: $9.78 billion (+85%)
Indian exports: $5.75 billion (+94%)
Chinese exports: $4.03 billion (+70%)
With a sustained push over the last three months of CY04, it can breach $13 billion. Last years annual figure was $7.9 billion.
