it's Jing-ling Dong road in the picture.
when i was young, a old guy told me, he ran to hongkong after communist came to shanghai, but stay there not too long, came back to shanghai again.
"you are so silly" i said, " why you come back again?"
"young guy, you don't know". he said. " at that time, shanghai just a jing-ling dong road can beat whole hongkong".
"but jing-ling dong road not an active treet" i argued.
"no, it's not an active street in shanghai, but it beat whole hongkong in 1950s' " he answered.

after many years, i came to canada. i understand why people talk about discrimination here. i understand why hongkong people discriminate at the people who are from main land. and i also understand why a western lady told me there are two different kind of chinese.

depend on this, today, i understand why "TaiDu" so crazy. also understand why japan don't know how to face to china's growing.
