Or more precisely, you are forcing me to do something against my free will. Now what should I do: to withdraw my signature or leave it as it is? Either way, I am bound to make mistakes.
I highly sympathize with Prof Ding, who has lost her only son during the cold-blooded massacre, and now is jailed for that! Although I know my signature, or any others for that matter, carries no weight at all, but it is the only thing I can do for her, a mother devastated by the unbearable loss. That’s why I asked Yu Dalang to sign my name for me. My decision was based on the understanding that this was an open letter initiated by you, an ordinary citizen with no connections with any evil political forces such as the notorious and stinky “democratic trash” active on line.
Now it turns out to be otherwise. Inevitably, I feel cheated. As has been demonstrated most vividly here in this forum by Mr Gao Han, one of the worst “democratic” trashes, such collective humanitarian efforts to rescue innocent victims of the tyranny most probably end up as a highly profitable political and economical enterprise. Politically, those trash politicians use it to bloat their public images as “freedom warriors”. Economically, it presents them abundant opportunities to write paid articles and give paid speeches and thus make a fortune out of others’ disasters. In the mean time, they do not give a shit to the fate of those whom they are supposed to rescue, caring the least whether their actions would embarrass the CCP authorities and consequently worsen the victim’s suffering.
Now you are making me an accomplice of those filthy criminals! I am really speechless.
OK, what has been done has been done. But I swear to dear God that this is the last time I join such an activity. I cannot deprive those trash politicians of their right to benefit from others’ sufferings. But I do hope that in the future, such activities could be carried out separately. That is to say, political forces play their dirty tricks on their own, whilst we independent intellectuals organize our own humanitarian rescue actions.
