在[约翰书]第二十章耶稣复活时, 20:2 经文,
20:2 于是她跑去西门彼得, 及另一个被耶稣爱的门徒处告知他们, "他们把主子从那墓里被取走了, 我们不知道他们把他放在哪里!"
20:2 So she went running to Simon Peter and the other disciple whom Jesus loved and told them, “They have taken the Lord from the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!”
在这里出现一个, 以"另一个被耶稣爱的门徒/the other disciple whom Jesus loved"为代号的人, 在继后所有的描述中, 作者注重了门徒是耶稣所爱的. 这个神秘门徒没有名号, 一直 "另一个门徒/the other disciple" 或"另一个被耶稣爱的门徒"出现.
在这里, 当他和彼得被马利亚告知耶稣的屍体不见了后, 他和彼得二人一起跑去看耶稣探墓.
到了后来, 耶稣出现了两次, 到第三次耶稣在海边出现, 耶稣指导门徒打鱼时, 先没人认出耶稣, 是这个"被耶稣所爱的门徒"先把耶稣认出来. 原文如下:

这个被"耶稣所爱的门徒", 和耶稣的关系特别亲秘/亲近. 当天早上, 耶稣和他的众门徒吃完早餐后, 耶稣问了彼得三次, "你爱我吗?" 叫彼得跟他走. 彼得指着那个"被耶稣所爱的门徒"说:"神主子, 那他又如何呢？"
而这"被耶稣所爱的门徒", 在耶稣吃最後的晚餐时, 他是投怀靠在耶稣胸膛中(leaned back against Jesus’ chest), 可看出这"被耶稣所爱的门徒"和耶稣特别亲秘亲近. 而耶稣问彼得跟他走时, 彼得就问耶稣你这个"特别爱徒"又如呀?
耶稣回答, "如果我想他(him)活着直至我回来, 那关你什麽事呢？你跟我来."
原来这没名号的耶稣神秘爱徒是一个"他", 是男性或男人.
结论: 在犹太人的幻想小说中, 耶稣很可能是一个同性恋者或双性恋者.
