US regulators give full approval to Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine
The Food and Drug Administration announced that it has approved Pfizer and BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for people 16 and older, making it the first to be fully licensed for use in the United States. The US is the first country to fully approve the shot, according to Pfizer. In a statement, CEO Albert Bourla said he hopes the decision “will help increase confidence in our vaccine, as vaccination remains the best tool we have to help protect lives.”
