波利尼西亚鸡Arrived in Americas Before Columbushttp://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/bigphotos/88048046.html
South Americans were enjoying chicken dinners a hundred years before Columbus arrived, thanks to Polynesians who brought them to the continent by the early 1400s, a new study says.
Scientists used DNA and dating techniques on ancient chicken bones to determine the chickens were of Polynesian, not European, descent.

智利发现的鸡骨骼来自1304-1424年,是波利尼西亚人饲养的,推翻1492年哥伦布是发现美洲第一人理论
此外,波利尼西亚人DNA特征目前也在南美洲居民中发现。http://tech.tom.com/2007-06-06/06NE/20453945.html
波利尼西亚人来自何方?
Summary:
One of the late Thor Heyerdahl’s pet theories was that the Polynesians came west from South America. But the results of DNA analysis of Pacific people it seems that the men and women come from different places!
The female genetic lineages which we’ve worked on through studies of what’s called mitochondrial DNA, all track back to island South East Asia or probably ultimately to mainland Asia. The male lineages on the other hand seem to be sourced from Melanesia or from Papua New Guinea.
