Has been coughing for a couple of months and all antibiotics seemed having out-of-dated for my body. It is really dangerous if I contracted some dreadful flu such as bird's flu.
I went to see a specialist who prescribed me with a chest x-ray in two dimensions. The result was not frightening but with some concerns as the coughing continued.
Nowadays the medical doctors don't want to miss any thing for a good reason; they don't want to be sued afterwards. Who knows everything? That is why you are very often diagnosed with such 'who knows' as ‘Virus', 'Eczema’or Psychogenic’etc. In my case, a subtle remark was added to the diagnostic summary of an OK lung: Increased vascular marker on the low part of the left side. What fuck is that? Well, the radiologist explained: If you wanted to rule out any doubt, had a CT done!
I did not go for it. Instead, I had a physical exam in my internist office. I havn't had it for 10 years and it might be good time to have a second opinion in addition from her as well.
"Good to see you back," she started with a greeting. "You know, you should have the physical exam once a year in my office." That was a complaint to me before I have a chance to complain of my condition.
"I have been coughing for a while, …" I said. "You know, there are a couple of reasons to cough. Did you have a cold before the cough?" she asked. "No." I replied. She then continued: "then I think it is the most likely you have gas efflux." She said: "I will give you some Nexium to control your gas and we will see if it is effective."
"Now, undressed except your underwear". I did. "Do you want to have your prostate and testicle checked?" "No." I blurted out instantaneously. I really didn't want to have another awful anal approach and egg squeezing. "You can mark those items" I smiled.
After the conventional check up, I had my blood withdrawn and an EKG done by a not quite attractive nurse.
The doctor came in again: "you should have the flu shot", I agreed. Then she came back again, "you also should have the pneumonia and tetanus shots." "Tetanus?" I was curious. " Yes, every 10 years." she said. It seemed I had no choice. "OK".
I had 3 shots in a roll, not quite pain though. "You will feel the pain from Tetanus tonight." The nurse warmed me.
I felt OK all day until the night. Wooziness was the word I could think of. It must be the low grade of flu caused by the immunization.
I waked up at the midnight from the dull pain of my dear arm that had 3 shots. I went to outside to have some fresh air. No sooner I had a cigarette than had I stated to cough again. There must a reason for my cough.
