中國某地方政府免費供土地給印度公司來中國開業, 為他們培訓職業技術人員, 提供貸款. 這樣叫做改革開放, 國際接軌.

一家很大的印度公司在中國有一大計劃, 在中國沿海中國政府免費給了該印度公司120英畝土地, 該公司準備在幾年內請 4000-6000中國人, 中國政府開的軟件公司負責培訓職業技術人員, 他們為外國公司服務, 句括很多印度公司.
Every large software company in India seems to have big plans for China, at least initially as a near shore center for the APAC and Japanese markets. Satyam has been given 120 acres of land for free and plans to have 4000 – 6000 people there in a few years. Chinese state run software companies are out to build a pool of software skilled professionals in collaboration with foreign companies (a lot them Indian) to get the industry to take off (you know how the Chinese are about these things).
One of my mentors at my company says they can give us a run for our IT money in a few years if they keep at it and Indian IT majors stay happy with low end work and substandard BTech manpower supply. You keep hearing this all the time – Indian companies do not have the management skills to really get into high end product development. My brother in law who works for a Detroit based auto parts company in Shanghai, always in praise of the Chinese, says they are a very disciplined lot and that discipline is very important in the software industry (I agree).
But here is hope. Most higher up I’ve met agree that they are so far behind as of now that by the time they have what it takes to make a real dent our IT industry would have archived economy of scale in a major way and the industry would have matured.
But the best news I’ve gotten so far is from an American lady I met at a little party last weekend. She’s a white lady in her late 20’s who was hired by a Chinese school to teach English there (Olympics 2008 preparation! My god you have to give it to the Chinese). She HATES the communist party and says the whole society there is a façade. The city she stayed at (Shin zing or something) was a village 15 years age but is now a city if about 10 million people. But it’s full of sorry peasants who cannot think outside the CCCP box. The Cultural Revolution has killed off all the independence and innovation in the Chinese intellect. She was sooo glad to be out of there and move Hyderabad where you can actually have a fun conversation with people. She says she is sure after coming here India is where she would bet on. I was reminded of Amartya Sen’s latest book ‘The argumentative Indian’ and an article about it on India today. I’ve always thought of it as our biggest weakness and Amartya Sen, an old goof. I’ve come around.
By the way she says the Chinese are a generation behind us in English.

The Chinese are targeting other areas of growth since the manufacturing sheen is withering. Other nations are picking up the slack in manufacturing. India is already hopping on to the bandwagon of manufacturing with the SEZ investment. Gone are the days of China providing an incentive for manufacturers across the pacific pond. All the old factories, dismantled and reassembled in China, are now fully amortized for depreciation. Old manufacturing skills are transplanted to the Chinese peasants. However high-end goods R&D, marketing, some manufacture is still the province of the Western nations. India is somewhat well rounded in growth, though singularly lacking in the low-end manufacturing game but fast catching up.
在軟件方面, 中國有很長的路要走. 印度公司在中國非常完善.他們在玩全球遊戲, 他們將可在戰略上成功.....英語是主要關鍵, 印度人持有這一勝利牌. 因印度人智慧業上優勢, 在米國和歐洲大公司如甲骨文從們加州搬到印度班加邏.
On the software issue: China indeed has a long way to go. Indian software companies in China is a sign of maturity. They are playing the global MNC game and should be able to chart their success/strategy very well. Also there are a lot of start ups in India mainly created by ex-pats, very well versed in the domain knowledge and with one leg of marketing /sales in US/Europe. English is the lingua franca of requirements/use case/analysis in all these activities and India holds the trump card here. Large companies (e.g. Oracle) in the US/Europe believe that the center of action has shifted from the Silicon Valley, CA to Bangalore/ other cities in India.
中國雖然在基建方面有些建樹, 但資金有效使用率低. 印度的增長主要在高檔智慧產業, 軟件, 皆因印度有更好的教育, 和民主基礎. 但中國只是在生產低檔產品上爭扎, 但也使它的基礎建設得益.
China has managed to use the wealth of import/export balance to beef up its infrastructure albeit with some gross capital inefficiencies. A main distinguishing theme between India and China is the approach to growth. Indian growth is mainly due to high-end knowledge business, software, better higher education while struggling with the infrastructure projects in a democracy. China on the other hand leaped-frogged the hump with low end manufacturing and has done an excellent job beefing up its infrastructure by edicts. As part of the globalization trend, India and China will try to balance their strengths/weakness, compete and even help each other. This is to be expected.
