Is Gao Han afraid of Anhunqu?

My answer is "YES!"

I did not know how this melodrama (or more precisely, spoof) started. But by reading An's poster, I got the impression that Gao had started it. Accordingly, there is piece downstairs entitled "Declaration of Web Fight" by Gao, in which he formally declared war against An, even though An said he did not want to fight.

Oddly enough, facing An's savage attacks, Gao suddenly fell silent despite the unbearable insults from An, such as "a clown on the edge", "coward" etc. Moreover, Gao tried to have a truce with An, under the pretext of protecting the rescue project.

Anyone who knows Gao's character would find his behavior pretty weird. In this BBS, Gao is the number 2 warlord, second only to me and is notorious for his bad temper, next only to me as well. Now he was so unlike himself. Why?

As for his excuse, anyone with average intelligence would see through it immediately. According to Suibian, it is Gao who posted up an article in the rescue web site to defame his political enemy. Obviously, he did not give a damn about Liu Di's fate then. Now, all of a sudden, he has become Buddha, showing his tender caring love for that poor girl!

The real reason, as I see it, is dead simple: Gao was frightened by An's counter-attacks, as he realized An held his "7th inch" (qi cun. The proper English expression is "holding someone's testicles". But as some web masters are great hypocrites, I don't want to give them an excuse for deleting my poster). If An squeezed it, Gao would immediately drop dead and become a political zombie.

There are enough clues supporting this guesswork. Gao fell silent immediately after An told everyone that Gao had sent him Qingniu's private letters and told him Qingniu was a dubious figure. It is rather likely, therefore, that Gao's conduct is just as dirty as An's. Now that An has gone morally bankrupted, he has become intrepid, willing to smash a jar that is already broken. In this situation, if Gao continues to fight, they will certainly do more dirty laundry in public, which means total political suicide for Gao. So stupid though he is, Gao finally held back his horse at the very edge of the cliff.

According to Susan, a female role in the traditional opera "Susan qi jie" (Susan stared her journey of exile), "there is not a single soul that is clean in the whole Hongdong County". Despite my quarrel with him, I used to hold Gao Han in reasonable respect. Now my illusion starts to evaporate. Perhaps we can say, quite safely, that there is not a single clean soul among those "freedom's warriors" active on the web. All of them are dirty scoundrels, respecting no principle at all.

Needless to say, what I have said above is just some guesswork, not facts. But there is a way to check it. Based on my guess, one can predict that the fight between An and Gao will die down. In other words, the current truce is to become permanent cease-fire. If this did not happen and the duo fought on, then my guess would be wrong. If the fight stopped forever, however, then it would be very likely that I have guessed the truth and An and Gao finally made a deal behind the scene.
