to classify economies into types is not an easy task
an economic system may overlap social, political, and religious systems--
those elements are interrelated, making separation difficult;
and, the problem is make more difficult by ideologies,
such as "socialism", "communism", and "capitalism"--
if your "socialism" mean something else, for example, the precursor of "communism"
--then i would accept that UK is not a socialist country,
the reason is obvious, because there is no such political practice in UK.
