I understand that you feel strongly about the alleged mistreatment that you received from the Forum authorities. As a matter of fact, any disgruntled members may have felt the same way.
But here comes the bottom line: this forum is funded by private money, and therefore is the private property. The owner, or the owner-designated representative, can do virtually anything on the premises. Others, like you and me, may or may not like. The owner doesn’t have to care and to explain. That’s it. You don’t like? No one begs you to be here.
Now they have a set of forum regulations. You do not have a case charging them for any “violation”, because they are not obligated to have this set of rules in the first place. You may say “having a rule and violate it is not gentleman-like”. True, it is not. So what? Private property!
A private home owner may decide to put the toilet in the middle of his/her dining room. Good idea? Of course, not. And it doesn’t smell too good either. If you don’t like it, the only thing you can do not to go to that house as a guest. And that is perhaps the only thing you can do. The owner doesn’t have to explain his decision to the rest of the world, or to write a Ph.D. thesis to justify the location chosen for the precious toilet. Everything is because he/she owns the house.
Better, save up a few dollars, create a forum under your own name www.ludi.com (if still available), and from that point on, you don’t have to watch the faces of the BANZHUs here. You can start walking with a big swagger in your own house.
