Lee is by and large right, but he can be a bit self-serving from time to time. Over all, he had a highly successful life. It is no wonder that he and Deng got along so well. Both were pragmatists and one can easily attribute the following to the Deng of Cats:

"We are pragmatists. We don't stick to any ideology. Does it work? Let's try it and if it does work, fine, let's continue it. If it doesn't work, toss it out, try another one. We are not enamored with any ideology."

and the ultimate:

"We are ideology-free. What would make the place work, let's do it."

I think this describes the current Chinese government as well. I support them for this reason.
