刚注意到方舟子就此新闻写的文章“举报假新闻‘美国首次认同中医药学为独立科学体系’”， 转贴如下并小评。
1. 方将alternative medicine翻作“另类医学”，是故意贬低、丑化中医。报告中对alternative medicine的解释为“It
interprets "complementary" medicine as being used together with conventional medicine, whereas "alternative" medicine
is used in place of conventional medicine”。 此处alternative明显是“替代”之意。WHO的中文官方文件也一律将
alternative medicine翻为替代医学。方翻成“另类”，也的确够“另类”的。
2. 报告原文只说“practices, products, and therapies that are distinct from ... used in conventional or allopathic
medicine.” 方则翻成“显著的差异”。“显著”一词从何而来？
3. 谁都知道中医和印度草医有数千年的历史。报告原文用“for centuries”，方则翻成“被实践了数百年”。将
“whole medical systems”这一专有名词翻成“整个医药体系”，而不是“整体医学体系”，理解能力的确不敢恭
维。
4. 报告原文说“These may reflect individual cultural systems”。 方的翻译没错，但其后却发挥成“中医...是一个独
特的文化体系”，意即中医只是个文化体系而没有科学性。原文的确没有说“科学”一词，但明确说明中医是一个
whole medical system。难道medical system就没有科学的成分？Webster词典对medicine的解释为：
1 a : a substance or preparation used in treating disease b : something that affects well-being
2 a : the science and art dealing with the maintenance of health and the prevention, alleviation, or cure of disease b : the
branch of medicine concerned with the nonsurgical treatment of disease
3 : a substance (as a drug or potion) used to treat something other than disease
4 : an object held in traditional American Indian belief to give control over natural or magical forces;
此处显然适用解释二。“science and art”里有没有“科学”？
5. 报告中说，因补充和替代医学在美国得到越来越广泛的应用，有必要对补充和替代医学产品的使用加强规范。指
的是包括食品及其添加剂、药品、化妆品、仪器设备等，原文中对此有一段注释，不能因为文件中提到某种治疗或
产品就认为FDA在支持它。方却将这段注释与中医联系起来，并说“哪里表明FDA接受了中医药理念和治疗功
能？”。读者不由要问，这个报告哪里表明FDA不接受中医药理念和治疗功能？

国内现在正在打击假新闻，我现在举报，《人民日报》2007年8月3日刊登的“美国首次认同中医药学为独立科学体
系”就是一条欺骗国人的假新闻。FDA新发布的指导性文件原文见：

文件中只有两处提到中医，都是和印度草医放一块的，翻译如下：
“‘补充与另类医学’一词涵盖许多种医疗实践、产品和疗法，它们与‘常规’或‘对抗疗法’医学的实践、产品
和疗法有显著的差异。有些形式的补充与另类医学，例如中医和印度草医，已被实践了数百年，而其他的，例如电
疗法，则是更晚近才出现的。”（The term "complementary and alternative medicine" (CAM) encompasses a wide
array of health care practices, products, and therapies that are distinct from practices, products, and therapies used in
"conventional" or "allopathic" medicine. Some xxxxs of CAM, such as traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurvedic
medicine, have been practiced for centuries, whereas others, such as electrotherapy, are more recent in origin.）
“NCCAM（国家补充与另类医学中心）把整个医药体系描述为涉及‘与对抗疗法（常规）医学独立地或平行地演
变的完整的理论和实践体系’。这些可能反映了独特的文化体系，例如中医和印度草医。”（NCCAM describes
whole medical systems as involving "complete systems of theory and practice that have evolved independently from or
parallel to allopathic (conventional) medicine." These may reflect individual cultural systems, such as traditional Chinese
medicine and Ayurvedic medicine.）
这不过指出了众所周知的事实，即中医和印度草医类似，与“常规医学”（现代医学）存在显著差异，有数百年的
历史，是一个独特的文化体系。哪里认同中医是个“科学体系”？哪里有“科学”一词？哪里表明FDA接受了中医
药理念和治疗功能？难道中国中医科学院认为FDA像中国药检局那样是可以用阴阳五行胡扯就可以糊弄过去的？
FDA的这份文件还特地指出，不可因为文件中提到某种疗法、实践或产品就认为FDA在支持它，大概就是料到了可
能会有骗子要拿这份文件骗人。中国中医科学院陈可冀院士是因为英文水平太差看不懂这份文件，还是有意造谣欺
骗国人？这是不是再次证明了中医的“国际地位”是靠谎言打造的？
