我看,你误会了。因为,我读的英文，常见it指USA等国家。随手就可发现一例：by Terry Pedwell,July 22, 2006.

你英文好得能翻译长篇英文成中文，却也产生这种误解。英文比你差的人，误解机会之大，就太可怕了。因为，从误解，我们就仇恨用it称呼中国的洋人(该作者)。我们的仇，却因我们自己的错误而生。岂不可怕？
我相信，it常指没性别的人或物。如baby，She just gave birth to her first child. It weighed 10 pounds.
