Dear Mr. President:,
I am writing you to appeal you to require the Chinese President Hu to assure
the safety and the freedom of the Chinese human rights lawyer, Zhi Cheng
Gao when you meet the Chinese President. The Chinese Human Rights lawyer
now has been forced homeless and lost several basic civil rights such as
renting and communications.
By arresting Chinese citizens without any legal papers, disallowing lawyers
to visit their clients, sentencing citizens without any trials, executing
citizens without any legal paper work, confiscating lawyer's license for
ridiculous reasons, planning traffic accidents to human rights lawyers,
harassing lawyers and their family members by secret agents,... President
Hu's government has seriously violated follow international lows and his
country's constitution, the laws of his own country and even his own government
regulations, and also the President's words:
1,Universal Declaration of Human Rights;
2,International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights;
3,International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights ;
4,Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political
Rights;
5,Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political
Rights, aiming at the abolition of the death penalty ;
6,Declaration on the Right and Responsibility of Individuals,Groups and
Organs of Society to Promote and Protect Universally Recognized Human Rights
and Fundamental Freedoms;
7,Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment
or Punishment ;
8,the constitution of the People's Republic of China;
9,The Criminal Code of People's Republic of China;
10, "Human is the root"(以人为本).
President Bush, we all remember your "liberty speech" to your citizens.
We think it is your commitment to the voters and your people and all other
peoples all over the world. Now I encourage you to speak it out to the dictator
from Communist China, the Headquarters of the Evil Axis, "Free Lawyer Gao!"
