A humble request for Mr Niu Lehou

芦笛

Dear Mr Niu,

As far as I am aware, you have come to the web as a moral warrior, fighting evils in particular, Ma Beiming most bravely, whenever there is such an opportunity. For this holy purpose, you named yourself "Bull Roaring Out of Ecstasy" (during mating?).

I am sorry if I mistake your gender, perhaps you are actually a "Roaring Cow", or even a "Holy Cow". If that is the case, I humbly beg your pardon.

Also it is very clear that why you hate MBM so much. It is just because he was alleged to use another pseudo name to refute himself. In your eyes, there is no sin or crime in this world that surpasses this kind of misconduct.

I could not agree with you more, my dear sir. Indeed, you inspired us not only with your holy moral doctrines, but also with your noble example that you set for all of us to follow by showing your vigilance against the evil Wang Xiaoshi. It is for these reasons that I firmly believe that if Mr Wang Xizhe (or his comrade-in-arms) is "Father of China's Conscience", then you must be "Son of China's Conscience", with Mr Gao Han, China's Conscience, in between.

Please note the difference between "Father China's Conscience" and "Father of China's Conscience". Whereas the former refers to some kind of priests, the latter highlights the courageous endeavors made by generation after generation as vividly shown by Mr Wang Xizhe, Mr Gao Han, and you.

Sometimes I wonder whether this is perfect yet. Perhaps we need some "Mather of China's Conscience", her daughter and grand-daughter as well.

But this is not what I want to say in this letter. The other day, I read a poster saying something about a famous writer currently active at the web site where you also contribute regularly. According to that poster, this famous writer has a profitable habit of submitting the same article to more than one magazines.

It does not seem likely that the author of the poster was libeling, because he has given the names of magazines. Had he lied, it would be pretty easy to find out the truth simply by checking the magazines he mentioned.

Of course, as the writer in question had pointed more than once, the web is a place full of vicious rumors (or "actual malice" as 07 taught us). So we certainly need to check whether this is the tooth, the whole tooth, nothing but the tooth (or teeth, if you like).

Very unfortunately, it happens that I rarely, if at all, read Chinese magazines. Moreover, I am not enthusiastic about the morality of writers at all. If they are shameless cheats, so be it. I would not lose a cent because I do NOT buy those junk magazines.

But you are totally different. As I said, you have utterly, totally and entirely devoted yourself to the holy cause of upholding the morality of writers. If you were so daring to challenge MBM to take legal actions, simply because you believed he had cheated readers, certainly you would never, ever, tolerate the alleged misconduct by that famous writer. Indeed, from any point of view, submitting an article to several magazines is much, much worse than MBM's alleged crime.

That is my humble and sincere hope for you, Mr Niu: go find out the truth and face the guilty party, were it the writer or the libeler, and face her/him as bravely as you did with MBM. Take her/him to the court. Teach her/him as well as all of us a moral lesson that we will never forget!

The whole world is holding its breath, waiting.
